An inflatable ice bath, to try cold before you build a pool
A drop-stitch tub with an insulated lid that stands up in an hour, fills from a hose and works on its own or with our 1 HP chiller. We deliver it, set it up and pair the machine; when the habit sticks, it has told you what pool to draw.
Every plunge on this site is a built thing: a pool in the floor or a tub with a chiller in a niche. The inflatable ice bath is the exception and the entry: a drop-stitch tub of 300 to 450 litres with an insulated lid that stands up in an hour, fills from a hose, and works with cold water and a bag of ice on its own, or with our 1 HP chiller as a proper cold plunge. We supply it, we set it up and we pair the chiller; when the habit sticks, the tub has told you what size of built-in pool to draw.
What arrives, and the hour it takes
Unpack and inflate
Drop-stitch PVC, the construction of a paddle board, inflated to a firm wall in about ten minutes.
Place and fill
On a level floor that takes 300 to 450 kg of water; a hose fills it in a quarter of an hour.
Cold, two ways
Cold tap water and ice for an evening, or the 1 HP chiller on two insulated hoses to the fittings low on the tub.
Lid on
The insulated lid keeps the cold in and the dust out, and lets the chiller idle between uses.
Set up by us
We deliver, inflate, connect and test the set with you; a care sheet and a spare filter stay with the tub.
Ice and tap water, or a chiller: what each gives you in July
| Tap water and ice | With our 1 HP chiller | |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature | what the tap gives minus what the ice takes: in a Gulf summer the mains arrive warm and a bag of ice buys a few degrees for an hour | 3–5 °C, held within ±0.3 °C, for as long as you want it |
| Cost per session | the ice | the electricity: about 0.9 kW while the compressor runs |
| Hygiene | empty and refill often; no filter | filtered and sanitised; refilled on the care sheet's schedule |
| Suits | trying it, a week of curiosity, a winter month | a daily habit, athletes, a small studio |
The tap-water version is honest for winter: Riyadh's January days average 20.1 °C and its nights 6.9 °C (National Center for Meteorology normals via the WMO World Weather Information Service), and a tub in a shaded corner sits in the low teens by morning. From May onward the mains are warm and the ice runs out before the session does; the chiller is the difference between a cold plunge and a cool bath.
Inflatable, free-standing or built in: the honest comparison

Where the tub stands
- A wet room. The best place: a floor drain, a tap and privacy. Check the door width for the chiller, not for the tub, which arrives rolled.
- A shaded terrace or courtyard. Fine with the lid on; the chiller stands in the shade with air around it, never in a closed cupboard. In full sun the water warms faster than a 1 HP machine can cool it.
- A garage or utility room. Cooler than the garden, with a drain nearby and no neighbours to mind the hum.
- A studio corner. A padel club's recovery corner or a small gym can start with two tubs and a 2 HP chiller before it commits to a built-in pool; the water care then goes on a log, as the water treatment note sets out.
The 1 HP machine and the working fill
The tub holds 300 to 450 litres to the brim, but it is never used to the brim: filled to the working line with a bather in it, the water is about 260 litres, which is the volume the chiller has to hold cold. That puts it on the 1 HP line of the nominal table (1 HP up to 260 L, 2 HP up to 570 L). The nominal size is the minimum for a shaded installation with the lid on; a tub on an open terrace, or two bathers in a row every hour, gets the 2 HP machine and the layout says so. The suite builder lists the inflatable tub among the cold options and sizes the machine for you.

Water, drain and keeping it clean
A tub that is used daily is emptied and refilled on a schedule, not when it looks wrong: weekly without a chiller, every few weeks with the chiller's filter running, a sanitiser dose between. Emptying is a drain valve low on the wall and a hose to a gully; 260 litres is a quarter of a tonne, and on a terrace that is a question for the slab and the waterproofing before it is a question for the hose. The lid keeps sand and leaves out, which in a Gulf garden is most of the cleaning.
What an inflatable ice bath costs
The tub with its lid is $0.6–1.7k (SAR 2.3–6.4k); with our 1 HP chiller, the insulated hoses and our set-up visit the set is $3.7–5.9k (SAR 14–22k), the lowest figure on the site for a cold plunge that holds 3–5 °C. It covers the tub, lid, pump, chiller, hoses and set-up; electricity to the chiller's position, a drain and freight handling are quoted, as the price guide explains. The chiller is the same 1 HP machine described under chillers built for heat, and it can serve a free-standing composite tub later.
Can I use it without the chiller?
Yes, with cold tap water and ice, which is a winter habit in the Gulf and a short one in summer. The chiller can be added later; the fittings are on the tub from the start.
Does it need a special floor?
A level floor that takes about 450 kg over a circle of 80 cm, with a drain within reach of a hose. A wet room, a garage floor or a terrace slab all do; a timber deck is checked first.
When should I move to a built-in pool?
When two people want to use it together, when guests or members will use it, or when the refilling becomes a chore. By then you know your set point and your routine, and the cold plunge pool layout starts from them.
