Qatar is the compact market of the five. Its hotels, towers, clubs and villas cluster around one capital, so a single layout process and a video survey work for each of them, and the questions are settled building by building. What differs is who signs: an operator with a brand standard, a developer with a handover date, a club owner with a peak hour, a family with a house to plan. Doha has its own page for the building-level detail. A project that also has a site in Saudi Arabia or Bahrain will find the supply, the currency line and the tax line can differ at each border.
Three public figures, and what each leaves out
- Visitors. A goal of 6 million visitors a year by 2030 under the National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030 (Government of Qatar, International Media Office, tourism page, 2025). It does not say how many rooms will have a wellness level.
- Wellness spending. A Qatari wellness economy of $4.67 billion in 2024 (Global Wellness Institute, Country Rankings 2019–2024, January 2026). It covers far more than saunas.
- Courts. More than 150 padel courts in Qatar (Playtomic and Strategy&, Global Padel Report 2026). Courts are not clubs, and not every club has room for a recovery wing; see fitness and padel clubs.
They describe a market, not a return. The numbers that decide a project are the building's: rooms, residents, courts and the busiest hour.
A hotel deck priced for 150 rooms
The method is one line of arithmetic: rooms × occupancy × guests a room, divided by the share of guests who want the deck in its busiest hour. The assumptions below are illustrative (70% occupied, 1.5 guests a room, one guest in five). A hotel knows its own figures better than we do, and the layout runs the same sum with them.
| Rooms | Guests in the busiest hour | Cabin that copes (15-minute sessions, 5-minute changeover) |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | 21 | one 8-seat cabin: 24 an hour |
| 150 | 31.5 | one 12-seat cabin: 36 an hour |
| 250 | 52.5 | two 10-seat cabins: 60 an hour |
If the busiest hour is nearer 40 guests, the answer is a second cabin or a shorter changeover, not a bigger cold pool. A tower podium runs the same sums with residents in place of guests (developers and residences). The hot-cold circuit spec sheet gives loads and clearances for a deck like this, hotels and resorts the way it is run, and the suite builder and the price guide move each number.

Three lines on a Qatar quote: supply, riyal and tax
Qatar's low-voltage supply is 240/415 V ±6%, three-phase four-wire, at a nominal 50 Hz (Kahramaa Low Voltage Electricity Wiring Code, 2016). We order pumps, fans and compressors for the supply of the country they are going to and ask for each data plate before anything ships.
Ranges on this site are in US dollars, and the riyal figures beside them are Saudi riyals, the pegged riyal our price lists use. The Qatari riyal is fixed against the dollar, with the Qatar Central Bank buying at 3.6385 and selling to banks at 3.6415 (QCB Instructions to Banks), so we use 3.64 as a working figure. A quote in Qatari riyals is issued on request.
Qatar has no national VAT at present (PwC Tax Summaries, 2026), and most imports pay the GCC common customs tariff of 5% of the CIF value (US International Trade Administration, 2025). Freight, duty and any tax appear on our quotes as separate lines, so two offers can be compared line by line; what a custom sauna costs in the Gulf lists the questions.
Summer hours and an opening date
Qatar's Ministerial Decision No. 17 of 2021 bars outdoor work from 10:00 to 15:30 between 1 June and 15 September (as reported by Qatari media for the 2026 season). Installation on an open deck is planned outside those hours and dates. A hotel works backwards from its opening: the signed temperature test and up to 7 days of installation come after the shell is finished, production (6 to 10 weeks) sits behind them, and the layout (5 working days) comes first. Planning around Ramadan and the season shows the order of the sums.
Why are the riyal figures Saudi riyals on a Qatar page?
Our price lists use one pegged riyal across the five countries so that a range reads the same everywhere. A quote in Qatari riyals is issued on request, and it carries freight to the site.
Do you work outside Doha?
Yes. A resort outside the capital, a villa in a coastal town or a club in another city is quoted the same way, with freight to the site stated. Doha has its own page because the towers, marinas and clubs we expect briefs from are there.
Pair or two plunges on a hotel deck?
A pair gives guests a warm place to rest between rounds and puts the heating and cooling in one plant room. A second plunge shortens the wait at the cold side and gives it a second chiller. On a 150-room deck we would draw both, because the cabin turns about 36 guests an hour and the cold side must not become the queue. See hot and cold pool pairs and cold plunge pools.
What does a hotel need to send to start a layout?
The plan of the deck or wellness level, the room count, the occupancy you plan for, the share of guests you expect on the deck in its busiest hour, the opening date and the contractor's programme. With those the layout answers within five working days.
